JAMES SCOTT (Phillip) is a former SSCC student with over a decade of experience on the Southern State
stage. He has been in various high school plays as well as many Southern State productions under the
direction of Ed Daniels.
BRIAN PERKINS (Chaz) is a veteran of the SSCC stage having performed as George in Our Town,
Huckleby in
The Fantasticks, Linus in You're a Good Man Charlie Brown,  and many reader's theatre
productions of Robert Frost poetry and
The Story of Santa Claus. Brian works at The Times-Gazette as a
staff writer. Brian likes cake.
BILL LANGE (Brent) A Southern State graduate, Bill has been entertaining SSCC audiences for over a
decade. Currently the Associate Editor at
The Times-Gazette, Bill has performed in numerous SSCC
productions such as
Harvey, Our Town, and his personal favorite, The Fantasticks.
JON DAVIDSON (Sol) joined SSCC in 1991 as a mathematics professor. In addition to teaching duties he is
also writing a textbook, The Mathematics of Music. A native of Florida, he holds an M.S. from the
University of Southern California and a B.S. from Florida State University. He lives in Hillsboro and is active
in music ensembles at SSCC as a performer, composer and arranger. Previous acting experience includes a
local production of
The Art of Dining and last spring's musical, Working.
MICHELLE HAWKER (Candy) is performing in her first stage show since being graduated from Hillsboro
High School in 2001. She is a full-time student at SSCC where she is pursuing a degree in extreme bungee
jumping. Her fear of heights is just something she'll have to get over. Her life plan is to marry Elton John and
help him write his next number one hit.
BEN CRONAN (Dicky) is a first year student at SSCC. His interests include British literature, 70's cinema,
theology, and German philosophy. He has never acted before but has seen quite a few plays with his
brother. There is really nothing to it, if you ask him.
KEVIN SHULL (Victor) is a senior at Hillsboro High School. Kevin "The Destroyer" has narrowed his future
plans down to Ohio State, Oberlin, of the University of Cincinnati. While at college, studying Broadcast
Journalism and/or Creative Writing and/or Theatre, Kevin will meet the other future members of Billy
Pilgrim, drop out, and become a Rock Star. He would settle for a spot in the cast of Saturday Night Live. If
any audience member is unfamiliar with work of Wesley Willis, Kevin highly recommends illegally
downloading some of his audio files. Uhh ... Wesley's files, that is. Not kevin's. 98. 99. 100.
JOAN MURPHY (Mona) has just returned to the area from an extensive run playing the Dinner Theater
circuit throughout the South where she understudied both Pia Zadora and Rula Lenska. Her main claim to
fame is more ex-husbands than Elizabeth Taylor, but no diamonds to show for it. She is returning from
sabbatical to the Income Maintenance Department of Highland County Department of Job and Family
Services.
BETTY CORBIN (Constance) came to auditions because of a long-time desire to be in a play. Fortunate to
be picked as one of the players, she has learned terms she wasn't aware of and has enjoyed immensely the
opportunity to participate in the play.
SAM SHAFER (Alabama) is a post-secondary student working on an Associate of Science Degree. His
future plan is to spend a six year term in the Air Force and become a SWAT team member. Previous acting
experience includes high school plays and SSCC's production of
Working.
ROBERT BROWN (Director) Bob is a graduate of Southern State Community College and the University of
Cincinnati where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Theatre. Bob has been involved with over forty
productions throughout Southern Ohio spanning twenty-five years. Bob has worked with excellent directors
over the years, including Daniel Llords and the late Ed Daniels, and only hopes he can live up to their high
standards.
Drop Dead! marks Bob's directorial debut.
CORI YATES (Stage Manager) is a SSCC student majoring in Electronic Media. This is her second
experience as Stage Manager for a college production and her first attempt at designing sound.
RYAN CRONAN (Technical Director) is a student at SSCC and is quite adept on the technical side of
theatre. Ryan plans on trying his hand on the performing side in the spring musical.
NICHOLE NACE (Assistant Stage Manager) is a third year student at SSCC and plans to have her
Associate's degree in Science this spring. Next fall, she plans to attend the Applied Science College at the
University of Cincinnati where she will work on a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Technology.
Drop Dead! is
her second theatre experience, preceded by
Working in which she got to play a stuck-up socialite, her
extreme opposite naturally.
NICOLE VILLARREAL (Camera Operator) is a post-secondary student concentrating in Theatre. This is her
first experience running a camera. She has acted in the previous SSCC production of
Working. She is
hopeful to be graduated this winter and plans to continue her Theatre education at DePaul in Chicago. She
plans to make a living doing what she loves - Acting!
AMANDA BURNETT (Lights) is a freshman at SSCC pursuing a Theatre major. She currently works at
Paramount's Kings Island in the merchandise department. During high school, she was involved in the
Audio-Visual Club and marching band for five years. Amanda performed two seasons at the Ohio
Renaissance Festival in Harveysburg.
